M.O.S.T.S. exists to build strategic and metacognitive readers throughout Kankakee County and beyond.  Tutors trained through M.O.S.T.S. online professional development mentor students in grades 1-5 to become lifelong literacy learners.  Because literacy really does matter in creating a stronger community, M.O.S.T.S. research-based transactional strategy instruction equips tutors to give back to their community, in a manner that can only be defined as "priceless.     

     Mentoring One Student Towards Success is a community based program meeting the needs of children who are just beginning in their knowledge of language and literacy. We encourage you to think about joining us at City Life Center, Community Resource Center, or Kankakee First Church ESL Program, where you too can make a difference in the future success of a student in your local community.
